Explorers
If you're 14 to 18 you can join the Explorer Scouts Section. As an Explorer you get to take part in all the usual great Scouting activities such as kayaking, climbing, orienteering - as well as projects supporting your local community.
You can work on a wide range of awards and badges.Working for badges isn't a chore - you get to participate in a wide range of fun, creative, adventurous and exciting activities. Awards such as the Queen's Scout Award or Duke of Edinburgh Award are highly favoured by future employers. You can also, if you choose, get more closely involved in working with the younger Sections as a Young Leader. See the video below to find out more about being a Young Leader.
Just look at the choice on offer when it comes to Awards:
It's all about choice as most Explorer Scout Units decide for themselves what programme and activities they do. Explorer Scouts are a great way to prepare you for life at university or in the workplace as we teach you independence, leadership skills and we help you grow your self confidence. You'll have a great time as well.
