Campsite
The Swanley District Scouts' campsite at Farningham Wood is set in 9 acres of woodland,
has 8 campsites, and is part of a 180 acre Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
There is one large campsite (the District site) and eight smaller sites in individual clearings around the wood, which can all be used both for camping or lighting fires on. Please click here to see a layout of the campsite.
There is a basic toilet block with hand basins, and we have recently won a NatWest CommunityForce grant to upgrade and expand it.
The campsite is ideal for Beaver Scout & Cub Scout activity days as well as for Scout, Explorer & Network Camps.
It is also good for an old fashioned sausage sizzle if you prefer.
If you wish to make a booking please check availability here and our prices here, and then read the Campsite Rules here and complete the booking form, A campsite warden will then get in touch to confirm your booking.
We also hold an annual sponsored walk "The Farningham Woods Walk" to raise funds for local Scouts, Guides, youth groups, schools, and other charities whilst helping to develop our camp-site.
This year, it takes place on the same day as the international Scouting event - Jamboree On The Trail (JOTT) - Saturday, 12th May 2012.
If you want to take part in the walk please click here, and for more information on JOTT see http://jott.org/.
