We Shape Kent 2021

This week sees the We Shape Kent Youth Conference take place.

Being virtual this year, the week will still be filled with lots of fun activities for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts with Zoom sessions for Explorers, Young Leaders, Scout Network and Adult Volunteers.

Q: What is We Shape Kent?

A: Youth Shaped Scouting is a vital part of the development of Scouting at all stages in a young person's Scouting adventure. The delivery of youth shaped activities and events is also important for leaders too. Between the 23rd - 29th August 2021, the Kent Scouts Youth Shaped Team are launching our first ever virtual youth conference 'We Shape Kent' for young people and adults.

Q: What does We Shape Kent involve?

A: The week of events is completely free for everyone and will include:

  • Exciting youth shaped activities for our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts across the week.
  • An opportunity for Explorers and Young Leaders to take part in a collective youth forum virtually.
  • Live sessions for Explorers and Scout Network members about their next steps and moving forwards in Scouting.
  • Live sessions for our Adult volunteers on embedding youth shaped Scouting in programmes, as well as an insight into youth shaped governance.

All live sessions will be recorded, so you can also watch them over after the event.

Q: Will there be a badge for taking part?

A: Yes, there will be a badge for taking part in We Shape Kent. Leaders will be able to order badges on behalf of their Scout Group or Explorer Unit after the event. The badges will be FREE to all Kent Scout Groups and Explorer Units, but you will need to pay for postage. If you are outside Kent, then the badges will cost £1 each.
