Ash Green Cubs visit Disneyland Paris - 19-02-2011

Cubs_1.jpg

Cubs and Leaders from all over Kent had a fun filled weekend in Euro Disney, Paris at the end of January, with Ash Green being the only participants from our District, writes Pat Roberts, Assistant District Commissioner (Cub Scouts).

Our journey started at Rochester, travelling by coach to Folkestone and on to France via the Shuttle. We arrived very late at the Davy Crockett Ranch and went to sleep quickly as we had a very long day ahead of us on Saturday.

A quick breakfast and we were off to the Park. Once through security we were able to go off in our small Groups to enjoy the rides and shows, identifiable by our red beany hats and day sacks. The day flew by... a quick lunch.....more rides...dinner at Planet HollywoTea.jpgod....more rides and eventually back to the Ranch.. .supper and sleeeeep! Some so tired they were asleep before the hot chocolate was made!! Sunday morning and everyone was breakfasted, packed and ready to return by 9.30am. Energy restored once again, but this time we went to the Studios. A lucky few managed to have photo’s taken with Mickey and Buzz, and,... got their autographs!

The bravest went on Tower of Terror..... a sheer drop of eight floors, and the screams could be heard throughout the Studio area!!! All too soon it was time for lunch and then the start of the return journey to Rochester. Our coach was much quieter, everyone happy to watch Disney DVD’s or perhaps catch forty winks.

We shared our coach with Cubs from Sutton at Hone, all of whom agreed that the best/scar iest rides were Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain, that they disliked waiting in the long queues for many of the popular rides and Ash Green decided that Chi Chi was a bit of a WHOOS.

General consensus was that it was a fantastic weekend, thanks to Bunty and Beccy for arranging it and all the adults who came with us.
